According to Elliott Erwitt, “photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place” and this certainly applies to the art of street photography.

Today we are featuring the black and white street photography of Cris Rose, a freelance photographer and artist based in London who never misses an opportunity to observe people and take another shot.

“Street photography is something I have been doing for years. I got used to carrying my camera everywhere, whenever I had some free time or an opportunity arose, I would take time to walk the streets, see the people and pay attention to the directions their lives had taken them. Primarily a documentary form of photography, street holds a mirror up to a place and time and captures the moment.”

Take a closer look, spend the right amount of time on each photo and you’ll be amazed with the details and the sentiments that street photography may offer. Every photo is a different story and of course, everyone can interpret it from a different perspective. That’s the beauty of photography!
